Dr Nina Bing Liu - Doctor of Chinese Medicine/Acupuncturist
Dr Nina Bing Liu (Lic. Ac. Liaoning TCMCI) is a Chinese medicine doctor and experienced acupuncturist registered with the Acupuncture Council of Ireland (TCMCI). Dr Liu graduated in 2001 with a Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Liaoning University of TCM in Shenyang, China. She interned at Liaoning University TCM Hospital cardiology department and attained her doctor’s license the same year. In 2002, she came to Ireland and quickly established her great reputation as an acupuncturist and TCM practitioner. In 2004 she returned to China to complete her masters in gynaecology, completing her thesis on the treatment of infertility (focusing on autoimmune issues). She returned to Dublin the following year and continued to build her practice here.
She travels back to China regularly to attend conferences and seminars to keep up to date with emerging developments in Chinese Medicine. Medicine is in Nina’s family. Her aunt is a professor of gynaecology at Liaoning University of TCM and Nina has assisted on various clinical research studies there. She is also part of a Chinese government led research team focusing on the efficacy of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of infertility. And she continues to do online research.
Her area of expertise is women's health, specifically Infertility and IVF/IUI support and she works closely with medical consultants in this area. She has a wide general practice also.
Nina has helped many couples and individuals achieve their dream of becoming parents, she has treated children for childhood ailments such as asthma or reflux. She has helped anxious teenagers doing final exams and helped ease symptoms associated with first stage Parkinsons in the elderly.
Ciara Clissmann - Managing Director, AcuPlus
Ciara Clissmann (Lic. Ac. C Nangjing TCMCI) is co-founder and practice manager at AcuPlus. She is a licensed acupuncturist (non practicing) registered with the Acupuncture Council of Ireland (TCMCI). After completing her Business Degree from Trinity College Dublin and living and working in London for a number of years, Ciara returned to Dublin to undertake a Diploma in Acupuncture with the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland (AFI). She went on to intern at University Hospital Nanjing, Jiangsu Provence, China.
On returning to Dublin, she set up her own private practice alongside a practice at the Fitzwilliam Health Centre, Fitzwilliam Place and Femplus Women’s Health Clinic, Blanchardstown. In 2008, she went on to work as a Business Development Manager in the Healthcare sector. She returned to the world of Chinese Medicine in 2015 when she opened AcuPlus with Dr Liu.
